From Friday, May 27th through Sunday, May 29th, you can enjoy the U.S. premiere of Donnacha Dennehy’s Memoria and Mussorgsky’s iconic Pictures at an Exhibition, plus Ravel’s Rapsodie Espagnola and Grainger’s Pastoral. Principal Guest Conductor Gemma New, who’s making major waves in the music world, will be wielding the baton.

On Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, meanwhile, Gilley’s Southside Ballroom hosts Carne Asada Fest, which’ll feature delicious eats from 25-plus Latin food vendors as well as live tunes from performers such as Nira Sky, Slim Thug, Paul Well, and others. Famed guitarist Chris Perez will be on hand for a meet-and-greet between 3 and 7 PM.

Memorial Day weekend also presents an excellent chance to get out and about amid the Dallas-Fort Worth area’s wonderful greenspaces, parks, and recreation areas.
