Enjoying the premier luxury hospitality of a Hotel Crescent Court guestroom or suite, you’ll be positioned within easy walking distance of the biggest contiguous urban arts district in the entire country.
The Dallas Arts District ranks among the great attractions in the city, laying claim to the greatest concentration of buildings designed by recipients of the Pritzker Architecture Award (the so-called “Nobel Prize of architecture”) in the world and an extraordinary collection of world-class cultural institutions.
Spanning more than 100 acres in Downtown Dallas’s northeastern section, the Dallas Arts District dates back to 1984, when the Edward Larabee Barnes-designed Dallas Museum of Art became the first institution to open in the freshly declared sector overseen by the non-profit Dallas Arts District Foundation.
Among the largest art museums in the U.S., the Dallas Museum of Art remains a linchpin of the Arts District, which also includes the Crow Collection of Asian Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center.
There are fine performance venues in the Dallas Arts District as well, including the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center (designed in 1989 by the famed architect I.M. Pei), the AT&T Performing Arts Center (which incorporates the Winspear Opera House, Wyly Theatre, and Annette Strauss Square outdoor performance space), and the Moody Performance Hall (originally known as the Dallas City Performance Hall). The Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing & Visual Arts, which has produced many distinguished pupils, also resides within the Arts District.
Other attractions here include one of Downtown Dallas’s flagship greenspaces, the 5.2-acre Klyde Warren Park, as well as the Perot Museum of Nature & Science.
From symphony concerts and operas to art exhibitions, live comedy, and food-truck sampling along Klyde Warren Park, the Arts District offers visitors a feast of edifying experiences and entertainment, and it’s all just a stone’s throw from Hotel Crescent Court!
