Labor Day Weekend 2021 in Dallas

From guided sightseeing tours and other structured itineraries to wide-open, let’s-see-what-happens approaches, you won’t be hurting for things to do in Dallas this Labor Day weekend.

Explore the city’s magnificent dining scene, tour its architectural landmarks, go museum-hopping, or declare a picnic at one of many parks and greenspaces. Check out the outdoor recreation on offer in the metro area’s immediate hinterland, not least the hill-country bliss of the 600-acre Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve a mere 20 minutes from downtown.

You’ll also find plenty of fun happenings underway for the holiday weekend. One of the most notable is the fourth annual running of the Black Academy of Arts & Letters (TBAAL) Riverfront Jazz Festival, going down September 3rd through the 5th. Running the gamut from jazz and blues to R&B and neo-soul, this fantastic event spans multiple venues and brings more than 25 big-name acts to the city, the schedule bookended by Erykah Badu and Terence Blanchard teamed up with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Other performers this year include David Benoit, Karen Briggs, Jeffrey Osborne, Millie Jackson, Pete Escovedo, Keiko Matsui, and Jamar Jones.

Smaller-scale events abound too, including the Pre-Labor Day Luau at Wild Acre Brewing Company over in Fort Worth on Sunday, September 5th at 11 AM. Check out some of the metro area’s world-class craft beer while toasting summer’s wind-down!
