Rather than attempt any kind of exhaustive list of happenings in our neck of the woods for Spring 2021, we’ll just spotlight a few events that suggest the diversity of experiences and pleasures on tap. 

Art and music lovers, for instance, will delight in the 26th annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival 2021, underway Friday, April 2nd through Sunday, April 4th along six blocks of Main Street in Downtown Dallas. This free festival will showcase the works of 200-plus juried artists: painters, jewelers, sculptors, woodworkers, and others displaying and selling their creations, including commission pieces produced then and there. There’ll also be no fewer than six stages and two additional performance sites featuring bands and other live entertainment, plus plenty of food and drink.

Speaking of food and drink, those with a hearty appetite will want to take note of the all-you-can-eat crustaceans that anchor Rooster’s 6th Annual Crawfish Boil, going down from 2 to 10:30 PM on Saturday, April 17th in Cresson, TX. While you’re relishing some topnotch Lone Star crawfish (washed down, perhaps, with some BYOB refreshments), you’ll have awesome live music to enjoy, including a performance by local tunesmith Randy Brown.

At the other end of the culinary spectrum, hop aboard a restaurant-hopping motorcoach for the Vegan Adventure Tour, revving up Saturday, April 10th from 11:30 AM to 3 PM. Co-led by Jeanine Stevens, owner of Dallas Bites! Food Tours offering the experience, and vegan expert and VEGWORLD editor Courtney Garza, this culinary outing will feature a veritable smorgasbord of Dallas-area eats—delicious and varied enough to appeal to vegans and non-vegans alike.
