Hotel Crescent Court’s Uptown location puts you within easy reach of many of Dallas’s world-class museums, which between them cover a lot of thematic territory. Here’s a roundup of just some of those top-quality institutions just a hop, skip, and a jump from our luxury hotel.

The Perot Museum of Nature & Science (2201 N. Field)

Dallas’s natural-history museum dates back to 1936 and has been one of the city’s signature draws for all these decades. From the dinosaurian marvels of the T. Boone Pickens Life Then & Now Hall and the cosmic reaches of the Expanding Universe Hall to the interactive exhibits of the Moody Family Children’s Museum, there’s much to dig into here. Current special exhibitions include the Towers of Tomorrow With LEGO Bricks, which presents 20 of the world’s most iconic skyscrapers—including the Burj Khalifa, the Tokyo Skytree, and the Empire State Building—in LEGO form, with opportunities for hands-on building as well.

Dallas Museum of Art (1717 N. Harwood)

As a guest of ours at Hotel Crescent Court, you’ll find yourself less than a mile from one of the largest art museums in the country—with free admission, to boot! The Dallas Museum of Art boasts a permanent collection better than 24,000 works strong. Besides that fantastically diverse spread, the DMA always has fine temporary exhibitions rotating through, which this month include Van Gogh & the Olive Groves, displaying paintings Van Gogh did of the Saint-Rémy-de-Provence olive trees in the last year of his life, and Octavio Medellín: Spirit & Form, focused on the noted Mexican-American artist, teacher, and longtime Dallas resident.

Crow Museum of Asian Art at the University of Texas at Dallas (2010 Flora)

A neighbor of the Dallas Museum of Art in the city’s Arts District, the Crow Museum displays a rich and wide-ranging collection of historical to contemporary art from India, Southeast Asia, Japan, China, and Korea, founded on the original acquisitions of Trammell and Margaret Crow. Current exhibitions include Born of Fire: Contemporary Japanese Women Ceramic Artists and Vishnu: Across Time & Space.

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza (411 Elm)

Also very convenient to Hotel Crescent Court, the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza tells the story of President John F. Kennedy, his assassination, and the saga of Lee Harvey Oswald. It’s situated on the sixth floor of the former Texas School Book Depository (now the Dallas County Administration Building), and comes anchored by the main exhibit John F. Kennedy & the Memory of a Nation
