It’s not easy whittling down all of those December events to a Top 5 list, but here’s one stab at it—in no particular order. (Meanwhile don’t miss our broader roundup of the best holiday events in Dallas-Fort Worth…)

(1) Dallas Symphony Orchestra December Concerts

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s schedule in December comes chockablock with special holiday concerts. They include the much-loved Dallas Symphony Christmas Pops series (December 7th through December 16th) with its stone-cold holiday classics and sing-alongs, the Big Brassy Christmas & Organ Extravaganza (December 10th), and a deluxe New Year’s Eve program featuring Strauss waltzes, Bernstein’s Candide overture, and some Gershwin, Ginastera, and Schubert favorites mixed in for good measure.

(2) Holiday at the Arboretum & The 12 Days of Christmas at Night

Through New Year’s Eve, the Dallas Arboretum is once again presenting its extremely popular Holiday at the Arboretum festival. On offer are the 500,000 holiday lights creating the garden’s 12 Days of Christmas at Night evening installation, the spectacular collection of international crèches in the DeGolyer House’s “The Artistry of the Nativity” display, meet-and-greets with Santa Claus, Thursday night Ugly Christmas Sweater Contests, and a slew of choral performances.

(3) Lights All Night Festival

On Friday, December 28th and Saturday, December 29th, Dallas Market Hall hosts one of the standout music and dance celebrations in the country: Lights All Night. We recently profiled this thrilling party, which this year hosts such headliner performers as Diplo, Gucci Mane, and Excision, here at the Hotel Crescent Court blog—check it out and get excited!

(4) A Christmas Carol at the Wyly Theatre

Enact an iconic Christmas tradition at the Dallas Theater Center’s Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, where Charles Dickens’ immortal tale of Ebenezer Scrooge will light up the stage through December 30th.

(5) The Texas Christkindl Market

Experience a traditional German Christmas market right here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area! The Texas Christkindl Market once again serves up handcrafted gifts and ornaments and lots of edible and drinkable goodies in Arlington on Thursdays through Sundays till December 23rd.
