The pyrotechnics get underway at 11:59 PM on December 31st, and welcome in the brand-new year with suitable pomp and circumstance that can be seen widely through the city.

One of the nation’s premier electronic and dance music (EDM) festivals takes place in Dallas around New Year’s: Lights All Night, which thumps and throbs along on December 30th and December 31st at Dallas Market Hall (2200 N Stemmons Fwy). This year’s lineup includes 1788-L, Habstrakt, Oddprophet, Above & Beyond, Cheyenne Giles, and many other performers.

Speaking of music, you’ll also have the opportunity to keep some yuletide vibes going a little longer by taking in the 35th anniversary performance of Chip Davis’s Mannheim Steamroller Christmas at the Winspear Opera House (2403 Flora St.) on December 30th.

Needless to say, we’re barely scratching the surface here: There are also plenty of other New Year’s Eve parties and concerts on tap. But at least you’re getting a sense of how all-around happening D-Town is for the end-of-the-year blowout celebration.
